At the same time, it also covers other guiding principles of sustainability such as regionality and innovation and the strengthening of regional economic cycles, while complying with EU legal requirements.<\/p>\n<p>In the best case, sustainable public procurement is associated with improvements in all three dimensions (environmental, social and economic). If this is not possible, the minimum requirement are positive effects in one dimension and no deterioration in the other two.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainable procurement is all the more successful the earlier ecological, social and economic criteria are included in the procurement process. For implementation, it therefore makes sense to consider not only the procurement of the products themselves, but also the decisions made in advance.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-l50qkk9b-f0d33ef72af4953c86ad9fc70abe18f5\">\n#top .av-special-heading.av-l50qkk9b-f0d33ef72af4953c86ad9fc70abe18f5{\npadding-bottom:10px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='av-special-heading av-l50qkk9b-f0d33ef72af4953c86ad9fc70abe18f5 av-special-heading-h2 blockquote modern-quote  avia-builder-el-6  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_textblock  amha-h2-blog-single '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >And what it is worthwhile for<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border'><\/div><\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  av_inherit_color '  style='color:rgba(0,0,0,0.7); '  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Careful and responsible use of our resources and our environment are the basis for a policy that meet the demands and needs of our population and future generations. In the fight against the climate crisis, this is more relevant than ever.<\/p>\n<p>With a share of about 14% of GDP, public procurement is an essential economic factor in Austria. It is important to make use of this leverage for a sustainable future.
